For those of you who have been on the edge of your seats, today marks the public unveiling of my new blog! I’ve been conducting a limited Beta over the last few months while I’ve been ironing out the kinks and trying to find my “voice” as a blogger. I’ve also experimented with a couple different blogging platforms, finally settling on Tumblr.

To be fair, Spark is an investor in Tumblr, but I was honestly leaning towards a different platform at first. However, a few elements of Tumblr drew me in:

1. The Tumblr bookmarklet makes it dead simple to grab media and links on the web and post them to my blog. It shifts the emphasis away from pure publishing and more towards content and media sharing.

2. The ability to “follow” other Tumblrs is a very elegant feature. It’s a richer version of the Facebook news feed and is way better than a bunch of links or bookmarks.

3. The user interface is clean, simple, and beautiful. It also seems very unpretentious to me. I feel free to write my casual observations, without the pressure to try to sound smarter or more profound than I actually am.

I hope you all enjoy reading this blog, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments. Also, do give Tumblr a try… it’s perfect for all of you who tried blogging at one point but stopped because it was too much of a hassle. If you do join, let me know so I can start following you.
