Bijan and Fred have both posted about our firms’ latest investment in Boxee.  I’m excited about this investment.  This past week, I’ve talked to two friends who both told me that they had recently (or were about to) get rid of their cable.  There was enough content on demand through the internet to satisfy their needs… and it looks like it would only get better.

The main bummer is that typical internet browsing doesn’t really lend itself to a “lean back and watch” kind of experience.  It’s more suited to short form clips that you watch on your laptop.

Boxee solves this problem by making online video more easily navigable and social.  It motivated me to finally get one my computers hooked up to my TV, and is causing me to eye an Apple TV or Mac Mini (Christmas gift anyone?)
